About

Marco Mullings

I am inspired by everything around me, sights, sounds, color and all things that I have done or have experienced. Using color as my biggest tool I seek to bring my vision to things around me. It is the creative process that drives me as I start with the unintentional and through splatting and combining colors that my subject matter grows. I view art as my release and my platform to express parts of myself that you may not see.

color

I like a lot of color. I like to use intense colors. I like to play off of fusing unorthodox colors to capture the subject matter.

strong

I like work to be strong. I use a strong, heavy color palette to make my work vivid. My work isn’t pastel, or opaque. I like using bold rich colors.

Pollock

I’m inspired by Pollock so I like movement in the background that actually creates my foreground. With the use of color work flows from one color scheme to another. I don’t like my work to be too stagnant. I create movement by using lines, brush strokes, and creating patterns I create a lot of movement. By using movement in the background I allow the background to create the foreground allowing the painting to come to life.
